Learn more about International Coaching Week and Mental Health Awareness Month and how to celebrate YOU.
Did you know that International Coaching Week is coming up? It may not seem like something you normally mark your calendar for unless you’re a coach. However, we’re sharing a little bit about it and coaching — because we’ve seen how coaching can help you regardless of your age, situation, or goals. So, we think it’s something that’s important to celebrate!
What is International Coaching Week?
International Coaching Week is a global celebration happening annually since 1999 when the International Coaching Federation (ICF) set out to call attention to educating the public on the value of working with a professional coach and acknowledges the results and progress made through the coaching process.
This year International Coaching Week happens May 17-23 and the theme is “Defying Challenging Times.”
Many of us are no strangers to challenging times, especially after the chaos of the last year plus living through a pandemic and other social issues happening around the world.
If you haven’t worked with a coach, it’s a perfect opportunity to take some time to focus on yourself, your goals, and self-care so you’re better enabled and prepared to defy these challenging times. The Coaching 4 Good Collective of coaches offers free initial consultations. This means you can easily get started with coaching at any time.

What is the International Coaching Federation?
ICF was founded in 1995. It’s now the world’s largest organization leading the global advancement of the coaching profession. ICF has over 35,000 members across more than 140 countries dedicated to coaching, lifelong learning, and upholding the highest ethical standards.
ICF empowers professional coaches, coaching clients, organizations, and communities through its work. So, we’re proud to support them and share what they’re doing with you.
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month
Another important calendar item to note is Mental Health Awareness Month and this year the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) is highlighting a theme of “You are not alone.”
Staying connected to others and participating in a community is key. It helps you protect your own mental health, care for yourself, and defy challenging times. Coaches provide a great community to help you see you’re not alone. We’re extremely grateful for all our amazing coaches and to all of you in our Coaching 4 Good community.
