Leadership Circle Profile® 360° leadership assessment

Leadership Circle Profile® 360-degree assessment for leaders and organizations

Leadership development starts with awareness.

The Leadership Circle Profile® (LCP) from Leadership Circle® is a comprehensive 360-degree leadership assessment. It shows leaders how they see themselves, how others experience their leadership, and where their intention and impact may be in or out of alignment.

It goes deeper than most 360 assessments.

The LCP connects leadership behaviors with the underlying beliefs, assumptions and aspects of identity that shape how a leader shows up, especially under pressure.

We use the LCP with individual executives, leadership teams and leadership development cohorts to build self-awareness, strengthen leadership effectiveness and create a starting point for meaningful, lasting growth.

Why the Leadership Circle Profile

A 360 leadership assessment that goes beyond what leaders do

Most 360-degree feedback assessments identify leadership strengths and development opportunities. The Leadership Circle Profile goes further.

It helps leaders see where their intention and impact are aligned and where there may be a gap. Then it helps them explore what sits underneath those behaviors: the beliefs, assumptions and identity that shape how they lead, particularly under pressure.

That deeper awareness creates the opportunity for real choice and lasting change.

What the Leadership Circle Profile measures

One assessment. A much bigger picture.

The Leadership Circle Profile combines a self-assessment with 360-degree feedback from the people who experience a leader's leadership, including their manager, peers, direct reports and others.

Built on more than 20 years of data from over 460,000 leaders worldwide, it looks at leadership across two primary domains:

Creative Competencies

Leadership strengths and behaviors connected to purpose, authenticity, relationships, self-awareness, systems awareness and achieving results.

Reactive Tendencies

Patterns that can emerge when leaders operate from fear, self-protection, control or the need for approval.

Together, these give a clear picture of a leader's effectiveness and the patterns that help or hold them back.

Choose people who have seen you under pressure.

Leadership is not limited to a job title, and some of the most revealing feedback comes from outside the office. Think about where else you lead or step up: a board or committee you volunteer with, your children's sports teams, a faith, cultural or community group. People who have watched you handle a deadline, a disagreement or a setback can see patterns that colleagues sometimes miss.

We recommend at least 10 responses for a well-rounded report. More is better.

How is the LCP different from an internal 360?

More than feedback on leadership behavior

Many organizations already use internal 360-degree feedback assessments. These can provide valuable information about how a leader is performing against the organization's leadership competencies.

The Leadership Circle Profile adds another layer. It opens up deeper development work around why a leader leads the way they do.

The primary differentiator is the work around identity.

  • Who do I believe I need to be to be successful?
  • What assumptions am I carrying about myself, other people and leadership?
  • What happens to my leadership when I experience pressure, uncertainty or risk?
  • Where might strategies that helped me succeed earlier in my career now be limiting my impact?

The LCP connects identity → mindset → behavior → impact, giving leaders greater insight into the patterns that shape their leadership and the opportunity to make more intentional choices about the leader they want to become.

An internal 360 can tell you how you're showing up. The LCP helps you understand what may be driving it.

Leadership development for organizations

Imagine if your leaders shared this level of awareness

One Leadership Circle Profile can create a breakthrough for an individual leader.

Across a leadership team or cohort, it creates something more: a shared language for understanding leadership effectiveness, recognizing patterns and talking about development across the organization.

We use the LCP as the foundation for:

  • Executive leadership development
  • Leadership development cohorts
  • Senior leadership team development
  • High-potential leader programs
  • Executive and leadership coaching
  • Leadership programs built around organizational priorities

Each leader receives their own 360-degree assessment and an individual debrief with a Leadership Circle® Certified Practitioner. From there, we help organizations turn individual insight into shared learning, stronger leadership and meaningful behavior change.

Why Coaching 4 Good uses the LCP

From insight to impact

Our leadership development work starts from the inside out, which is why the Leadership Circle Profile integrates so naturally with the other frameworks and methodologies we use.

The LCP shows leaders who they believe they need to be and how that shapes the way they lead. But insight alone doesn't create change.

We integrate what leaders learn through their LCP with frameworks like Dare to Lead™ and Conscious Leadership, helping them turn awareness into new choices and practice those choices in the moments that matter. The LCP helps leaders see the patterns. Our broader leadership development work gives them tools to work with those patterns and choose differently.

When a leader changes how they show up, it doesn't stop with them. It changes conversations, relationships, teams and ultimately the organization around them. That change has a ripple effect.

The LCP is the foundation that makes the development work that follows more effective.

What leaders gain

From leadership feedback to focused development

Leaders walk away with:

A clearer understanding of how others experience their leadership

Greater awareness of where intention and impact align and where they don't

Insight into leadership strengths they can build on

Language for patterns that emerge under pressure

Greater understanding of the beliefs, assumptions and identity underneath those patterns

Clear priorities for leadership development

A baseline for measuring leadership growth and effectiveness over time

How the LCP works for organizations

Bringing 360 leadership assessments to your leaders

01

We start with your goals.

We learn about your leaders, your organization and the leadership capabilities you are trying to develop.

02

Leaders complete their 360s.

Each leader selects raters who experience their leadership from different perspectives.

03

Every leader receives an individual debrief.

A Leadership Circle® Certified Practitioner helps them understand their results, explore what may be underneath their patterns and create a focused development plan.

04

We turn insight into impact.

Pairing the LCP with coaching gives leaders time to work through their development plan, practice new behaviors in real situations and adjust along the way, so the change reaches their teams and organization.

The LCP can also become the foundation for team development, workshops or a broader leadership development program.

Results belong to the leader.

Each leader's report is confidential between them and their coach. When an organization sponsors the assessment, each leader decides what they share.

360 assessment for individual leaders

Want to understand your own leadership?

You don't need to be part of an organizational leadership development program to complete an LCP.

What happens after you purchase

1

Tell us about yourself. Your purchase form helps us match you with the right debrief coach.

2

Choose your raters. We send you a short guide to selecting at least 10 people, then handle the invitations and reminders.

3

Complete your self-assessment. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes online.

4

Debrief with your coach. Once feedback is in, your coach reviews your results and spends 90 minutes with you making sense of them and identifying the shifts that will make the biggest difference.

From purchase to debrief typically takes about four to six weeks, depending on how quickly raters respond.

Continue the leadership development

Insight is where development begins

A 360 assessment creates awareness. What leaders do with that awareness is where leadership development happens.

For the greatest impact, we recommend 6 to 12 months of coaching following the LCP. This gives leaders ongoing space to work their development plan, notice old patterns as they emerge, experiment with new behaviors and turn new choices into new ways of leading.

For organizations, the LCP can also become the foundation for leadership cohorts, team development, workshops and longer-term leadership development programs.

Start with awareness. Build from there.

Whether you are developing one executive, a leadership team or an entire cohort, the Leadership Circle Profile® creates a strong starting point for deeper leadership development and lasting change.

Let's talk about what you're trying to create and how we can help turn insight into impact.
